The Israel Police reportedly arrested several military officers and former associates of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu early Sunday amid the multiple corruption cases against the Israeli leader.

The arrests were purportedly initiated as part of the probe dubbed “Case 3,000,” which involves a $1.5 billion deal to acquire three additional submarines for the Israeli Navy from the German manufacturer ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS).

The fact that Netanyahu’s personal attorney, David Shomron, represents TKMS in Israel sparked an investigation that saw a former IDF general detained for questioning in mid-July along with several other suspects, over allegations of bribery and money laundering.

The Israel Police Sunday confirmed the arrests of six suspects, stating that the officials were detained and had their homes and offices searched “in order to apprehend documents relevant to the investigation.”

Netanyahu has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in Case 3,000 and in the two other corruption probes against him, “Case 1,000” and “Case 2,000.”

In early August, Netanyahu’s former chief of staff, Ari Harow, signed a deal to become a state witness in the investigations, increasing speculation that the prime minister could be indicted on corruption charges.

Last week, Netanyahu’s wife Sara took a private polygraph test ahead of her expected indictment in connection with Case 1,000, for allegations of improper behavior and misuse of state funds. She was found to be telling the truth regarding “her version of the events,” according to the Tal Polygraph center.
