A 12-year-old boy from Majdal Shams, injured by a Hezbollah rocket, underwent successful surgery at Galilee Medical Center. Dr. Alon Rod, a spine surgery specialist, removed an 18 mm shrapnel piece from his spine, which narrowly missed the spinal cord.

Dr. Nimrod Rahmimov, head of the Orthopedic B and Spine Surgery Department, stated that the shrapnel was embedded in the back part of the vertebra and fractured it but miraculously did not hit the spinal cord.
