In a heartwarming display of resilience and faith, two seriously wounded IDF soldiers recently reunited to play inspirational music together.
Rabbi Yishai Engelman (Right) sustained severe injuries from an explosive device in Gaza about two weeks ago. Despite the severity of his condition, he miraculously woke up just hours after his operation at Soroka Hospital, communicating with those around him and breathing independently. His father, a fellow teacher at a Yeshiva in Ma’ale Adumim, called upon the public to pray for his son’s recovery and for all the other injured soldiers of Israel.

Rabbi Engelman and Shenvald chose to play the song ‘Hatov ki lo Kalu Rachamecha,’ set to a tune by the late Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. The lyrics, which translate to “The Good One, your compassion is infinite,” serve as a powerful reminder of the courage Israel’s brave soldiers display every day, even in the darkest of times.
Very moving. My heart is with you at this awful time in your history. I am not Jewish but the world would be a much poorer place without the Jewish people and without Israel.
U both ……extraordinary soldiers….. extraordinary students, extraordinary musicians…..U r giving a great LIFE LESSON in front of the World….U both and ALL ISRAELI PEOPLE ARE EXTRAORDINARY.ALL OF YOU!!
Thank you for your music!
My whole heart is with you, in these times of trouble for Jewish people; myself I am not a Jew.
I suffer when you suffer and I rejoice when you rejoice. How not to rejoice when:
“Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.”
Absolutely beautiful !!!!
