WOW! Icelandic Airline Announces USA to Israel Flights for $149

Icelandic low-cost carrier WOW Air announced today it would be offering one-way flights between USA and Tel Aviv from a number of  North American cities for just $149 including taxes and fees.

Starting in September, WOW says, it will operate four weekly flights from Tel Aviv to New York, Boston, Miami, Chicago, Toronto and Montreal. The deals from America to Israel let you fly between Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Newark, Or Pittsburgh And Tel Aviv for $298 round-trip Or between Miami, LA, Or San Francisco And Tel Aviv for only $398 Round-Trip.

“Visitors from all over the world continue to be attracted to the unique city of Tel Aviv and we are honored to have the opportunity to offer travel from the United States in a more efficient way with the best possible prices,” said Skúli Mogensen, founder and CEO of WOW air according to the press release.

“The Israeli government and tourism board have been great partners in getting the route approved and we are thankful for their support of WOW air,” he said.

“We set a goal to bring new airlines to Israel, so I’m happy and congratulate WOW air, known for its long haul low-cost flights, on its entry into Israel in cooperation with the Israeli tourism ministry,” Tourism Minister Yariv Levin said.

“I’m confident the launching of this new historic route will significantly increase the number of tourists traveling to Israel from Iceland, Canada and the US, and will also contribute to the unprecedented trend of growth in the number of tourists visiting Israel over the last number of months,” he said.

The only catch is that the prices do not include a luggage allowance, you can take a carry on bag on board for free as long as it weights under 22 pounds and fits under your seat. But if you have a bag, expect to pay between $40 to $50 per bag. In addition, no meal is served on board. Water, soda, and snacks cost extra and there’s no Wi-Fi or entertainment onboard.
