PHOTO OF THE DAY: Democrats Pray for Republican Colleagues After Hearing of Baseball Shooting

Democrats practicing for the Congressional Baseball Game scheduled for Thursday night prayed for their Republican counterparts after at least five people were injured as they prepared for the charity game Wednesday, reported the Washington Examiner.

“.@HouseDemocrats praying for our @HouseGOP @SenateGOP baseball colleagues after hearing about the horrific shooting,” Rep. Ruben Kihuen tweeted with a photo of Democrats with their heads bowed.

Rep. Jared Huffman tweeted that the Democratic baseball team was practicing when the news broke.

“We’re safe & with police, everyone praying for GOP colleagues, staff and Cap police,” he wrote.

Rep. Nanette Barragan said practice had been “shut down.”
