The soldier had left his unit in the Golan Heights in the afternoon and had since disappeared. The massive search focused on the Katzrin area.
“Starting yesterday afternoon, IDF forces along with the Israel Police have been conducting searches for an IDF soldier in the Golan Heights,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement.
The soldier’s family has been notified and an investigation has been opened into the cause of his death.
