EXCLUSIVE: Hatzalah NYC Prepares Convoy of EMT’s, Doctors to Florida Amid Irma

In an unprecedented effort of forethought and concern for the Florida community, JBN has learnt that Chevra Hatzalah are planning to deploy to Florida, in an effort to get ahead of the damages that Hurricane Irma may inflict as well as be on hand to provide emergency medical services after Irma.

This tremendous effort is a Unified Command Center of all volunteer organizations also includes Chesed Shel Emes, Hatzolah of Miami-Dade, Achiezer and Zaka as requested by Baruch Sandhaus, executive director of Miami-Dade Hatzalah. The Unified Command Center will be headed up by Baruch Sandhaus, Dovid Goldwasser and Eli Bryski who will be coordinating all resources in Miami.

Chevra Hatzalah, NYC which runs all neighborhood Hatzalah agencies within NYC and other rescue agencies want to make a more proactive effort to be available before the hurricane even starts as opposed to rescuers who drove into Houston after Hurricane Harvey. Towards that effort Hatzalah’s executive director, Abe Wurzburger has  reached out to Florida Governor,Rick Scott for confirmation from the State of Florida that under emergency management powers of the governor, Hatzalah will be authorized to provide medical services and transports to hospitals in connection with Hurricane Irma.
