

Police have not released any official information about Kelley’s intent. Kelley is responsible for killing 28 people and injuring at least 20 more at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs on Sunday.

Kelley’s victims age in range from 5 to 70 years old. 25 were killedinside church, 3 outside. Reports say that 4 children from 1 familywere shot. A 5 year-odl bit was shot 4 times and is now in surgery. One 8 year-old is said to have survived by hiding under the pew.
Church Pastor Frank Pomeroy’s 14-year-old daughter, Anabelle, was one of the murdered victims.
Pastor Frank Pomeroy was not present at the service, when Kelley walked in and started firing. Anabelle was “one very beautiful special child,” the pastor said.

Kelley is reported to be former U.S. Air Force member who served from 2010 to 2014. He received a dishonorable discharge and was court-martialed in 2014.

A neighbor of the church is said to have stopped the massacre by grabbing his own rifle and running to the church to shoot Kelley. Once shot, Kelley dropped his rifle and drove off about 5 miles in his vehicle, where he was later found dead in his vehicle in nearby Guadalupe County.
