“I heard with great sorrow about the passing of the Torah giant and yeshiva head, Rabbi Aharon Leib Shteinman. With the death of Rabbi Shteinman the Jewish people has lost a a beacon of spirit, tradition and morality.
“Rabbi Shteinman used every free moment to study and disseminate Torah. He explained halachic rulings, decided deep issues and acted on behalf of the public with true love of Israel. Rabbi Shteinman left generations of disciples who will continue to carry the torch of the Torah.
“On the eve of Chanuka, on which we mark the victory over the decrees of the Greeks who forbade keeping the Torah, the Torah world is flourishing. Rabbi Shteinman established an important link in the chain of thousands of years of Torah, and his memory will rest forever in the annals of our nation.”
