“It pains me greatly, my brother Yosi. I also had the fire on Rosh Chodesh, Rosh Chodesh Nissan, the day when the princes began to bring their sacrifice at the dedication of the altar. And they were classmates.
The Nesiim prepared the altar to prepare the tabernacle for the sacrifices, and at the beginning of the month the Holy One, blessed be He, sought to bring sacrifices to the village for minimizing the moon. The Temple does not exist today. Therefore, Gd takes from us the righteous to atonement.
“Our family fulfills the verse of:”Among those who are near me I will be sanctified, and before all the people I will be glorified.” (Vayikra 10:3) Not only were they close to G-d but they also brought the people of Israel closer to G-d.
Yosi, now you are not one of the regular people. You have to go higher. This is the rule by which you must live. There is no other way to overcome the immense grief. How do you go higher? Just by loving. To accept the hardships with love. To love Hashem. To love every member of Klal Yisrael and to do for them. And the strength of that love will give you the ability to triumph over the forces that pull you down and will bring you closer to Hashem.
Because love is life!
