USA Olympic gold winner Amit Elor sends a special message to all her fans in Israel:

“Oy, my Hebrew is not so good but I want to thank you very much for watching me… Hebrew is the most beautiful language ever, and I didn’t speak it, but I want to learn. I love all of you and thank you and I hope I made you proud!”

Twenty-year-old Amit Elor became the youngest American Olympic gold medalist in the history of wrestling!

After her historic win, Amit displayed a yellow ribbon in honor of the hostages still being held in Gaza. 🎗️

Amit has an older sister, Ronny, and an older brother, Orry, both of whom won USA Wrestling Junior National titles.

Amit has faced adversity recently. Her older brother, Oshry, was murdered at age 23 in his home during an attempted robbery in 2018, and her father, Yair, died suddenly in 2022 during COVID. Both of her grandfathers and her great-grandmother were Holocaust survivors. The rest of her extended family lives in Israel.

Both of Amit’s parents are Israeli. They moved to the USA after they married, and she grew up in Walnut Creek, California, and only spoke Hebrew until she attended the local JCC preschool.
