Israel is planning to arm Ukraine with weapons to help in their defensive war against Vladimir Putin’s Russia.
News of the arms transfer broke on Tuesday after the social media account of the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel revealed a meeting between Ukraine’s Ambassador Yevhen Korniychuk and Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel.
Join the JBN+ WhatsApp Group“During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Minister for her proposal to transfer to Ukraine Russian-made weapons seized by the IDF in Lebanon or elsewhere from Israel’s enemies. It was noted that this initiative represents an important step in recognizing the common threats faced by both countries. The Ukrainian side expressed hope for a positive resolution of this matter,” ,” Ukraine’s diplomatic mission reports.
This proposal follows Sunday’s implementation of a long-awaited ceasefire in Gaza, which brought an end to Israel’s defensive operations against Hamas.
But the weapons Israel plans to transfer are not their own or US-made.
Ironically, they’re Russian-made arms captured from Hezbollah strongholds during recent military operations. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed last month that IDF forces had discovered “state-of-the-art Russian weapons” during raids on Hezbollah bases.
According to the IDF, the searches revealed advanced Russian Metis-M systems with both thermobaric (9M131FM) and standard (9M131M) warheads. Also seized were Strela-2 MANPADS, RPG-29 Vampire and RPG-27 Tavolga launchers, plus Kornet ATGM missiles and Iranian Almas copies along with substantial small arms and ammunition.

Israel has played it cool with Russia until now, mainly to keep Moscow from causing trouble in Syria after Bashar al-Assad’s fall. But with Putin’s weapons showing up in Hezbollah bunkers and Iranian killer drones filling Russian arsenals against Kyiv, the Jewish State has seen enough.
The circle is now complete.
The Kremlin won’t like it. Then again, Israel didn’t like finding Russian missiles pointed at Tel Aviv either.
Israel’s 60-day ceasefire with Hezbollah ends in 4 days.
