0 commentsAs the world tuned in to watch the grand opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics on Friday, a group of anti-Israel “activists” hijacked the show.
When the Palestinian delegation arrived, consisting of a mere eight athletes, they staged a provocative float down the Seine while waving Palestinian flags and wearing keffiyehs, which have become a symbol of Israel’s destruction. Perhaps, the most egregious display coming straight out of Hamas’ propaganda playbook came when boxer Waseem Abu Sal wore a shirt depicting an Israeli plane bombing Arab children.

However, when it came to Israel’s turn, a vocal contingent of Israel-haters made their presence known. When the Israeli delegation proudly entered, they were met with a chorus of boos and jeers from the crowd.
Protesters hung banners and posters around the city and leveled baseless accusations of atrocities against the Jewish state. One disturbing poster featured an Olympic podium drenched in blood, bombs, and the Israeli flag, proclaiming “When it comes to killing for sport, there’s no competition.”
Unsurprisingly, the International Olympic Committee remained silent. No one stepped forward to condemn the Palestinian delegation’s inflammatory attire or the antisemitic protesters’ blatant attempts to condemn Israel with blood libels.
Once again Israel finds itself singled out for attack on the world stage while Arab incitement and support for terrorism are given a free pass. Considering the Olympics are meant to represent humanity’s ideals of peaceful international cooperation and sportsmanship, the hypocrisy is outstanding.
