The wave of antisemitism sweeping across America reached catastrophic new heights for the fourth consecutive year.

According to a troubling report released Tuesday by the Anti-Defamation League, Jews were targeted 9,354 times in 2024, a 5% increase from the previous year’s record high. More alarmingly, it represents a staggering 344% surge since 2019 and nearly tenfold growth over the past decade.

For the first time in the audit’s 46-year history, anti-Israel demonstrations accounted for more than half the incidents (5,452), featuring protesters who frequently expressed support for terrorist groups and used antisemitic language, including blood libel accusations and Nazi comparisons. The report also named Students for Justice in Palestine and the Party for Socialism and Liberation as the main culprits behind the epidemic of pro-Hamas campus rallies that have hijacked America’s top educational institutions for the last year and a half.

“This horrifying level of antisemitism should never be accepted and yet, as our data shows, it has become a persistent and grim reality for American Jewish communities,” remarked ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt. “Jewish Americans continue to be harassed, assaulted and targeted for who they are on a daily basis and everywhere they go. But let’s be clear: we will remain proud of our Jewish culture, religion and identities, and we will not be intimidated by bigots.”

While harassment represented the most common category with 6,535 reported cases (including 647 bomb threats), physical assaults and vandalism saw significant increases. Assaults rose 21% to 196 incidents, with Orthodox Jews being disproportionately targeted. Meanwhile, vandalism increased 20% to 2,606 cases, with swastikas disturbingly appearing in more than a third of cases reported.
