In a major counterterrorism success, Israeli security forces have killed Nur al-Bitawi—one of the most wanted terrorists in Judea and Samaria—in a targeted operation in Nablus. The joint effort, carried out by the IDF and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), marks a significant achievement in the ongoing fight against terrorism in the region.

Al-Bitawi was considered one of the senior leaders of the Jenin-based terrorist network and had long been on Israel’s most-wanted list. Security officials say he played a key role in organizing attacks and evading justice despite multiple attempts to arrest or eliminate him in the past.

Today, acting on precise intelligence, Israeli forces launched a raid on the location where al-Bitawi was hiding. During the operation, an exchange of fire broke out. Ultimately, al-Bitawi was killed by an aerial drone strike that directly targeted and exploded on his position.

Another militant, identified as Hekmat Abd al-Nabi, was also eliminated during the raid.

This operation highlights the ongoing vigilance and capabilities of Israeli security forces operating in high-risk areas like Nablus and the Jenin refugee camp, where terrorist cells often embed themselves among civilian populations.

Israeli officials hailed the mission as a major blow to terrorist infrastructure in Judea and Samaria and a strong message to those who continue to threaten Israeli lives.

Further details are expected to be released in the coming hours as the IDF continues its operations in the region.
