Kibbutz Nir Oz was the most devastated community by by the Oct. 7th attacks in which Hamas either killed, injured or abducted and took hostage into Gaza about one quarter of the 400 residents of Nir Oz. The surviving kibbutz members were evacuated to Eilat.
