lOntario Premier Doug Ford has expressed strong support for Canada’s retaliatory measures in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent imposition of a 25% tariff on imported vehicles. Ford emphasized the need for a robust response to protect Canadian interests, stating, “We’re going to make sure that we inflict as much pain as possible to the American people without inflicting pain on the Canadian population.”

Prime Minister Mark Carney has labeled the U.S. tariffs as a “direct attack” on Canada and announced plans for a high-level cabinet meeting to determine appropriate countermeasures. Potential responses include imposing retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods, with Canada already planning CA$155 billion in such tariffs to be implemented in stages based on U.S. actions. Carney emphasized Canada’s commitment to defending its workers and industries, stating, “We will take the necessary steps to protect our economy and our people.”

The U.S. tariffs have sparked widespread criticism from Canadian leaders. Ford highlighted the potential for significant economic disruption, warning of possible simultaneous shutdowns of auto plants on both sides of the border. He underscored the importance of a measured yet firm response to mitigate harm to Canadian industries while exerting pressure on the U.S. to reconsider its trade policies.

The escalating trade tensions have raised concerns about a potential trade war between the two nations, with Canadian officials exploring various avenues to respond effectively. The situation remains fluid, and further developments are anticipated as both countries navigate this complex economic landscape.

you are Canada… you cannot inflict pain on anyone except to listen to your silly accents.

Trump is not trying to inflict pain. He is trying to have fair tariffs. this one sided tariff bs has ended! no more gravy train… so we shall see if your economy can survive…USA really does not need you but perhaps as the 51st state

Doug Ford is just responding the way any leader would when your best friend and neighbor threatens out of the blue to destroy your economy. But if you seriously believe Trump’s BS trade (or Fentanyl) propaganda, then you really do deserve all the economic pain that will befall America when Trump’s tariffs are implemented. And no… it’s not just cheap maple syrup you’ll be missing.

Fair tarifs or not, men of power should be in control of their anger controlled by unseen coward malign forces hiding in plain sight. Hence, we learned from our past anger gives birth to evolution of evil from within the individuals’ soul, only God the opposite has absolute power of the invisible and visible only if He is drawn closer. Men of high academic standards shouldn’t stoop lower than their aponent, but use primary wisdom not to oppose but to use such wisdom in dialog, for both parties even opportunists.
