CBS News finds itself at the center of a growing controversy following revelations about the social media activity of one of its Gaza-based producers.

According to the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting & Analysis (CAMERA), Marwan Al-Ghoul, who has been praised by CBS higher-ups for his “resolve” in covering the region, has a documented history of endorsing extreme anti-Israel sentiments. In 2022, Al-Ghoul “liked” a Facebook comment that described Israeli Jews as “Nazi Zionist murderers whose crimes are silenced, covered for by the US and international complicity.”

The same year, he endorsed another comment stating that Israeli Jews “by no means do they count as human, these are monsters in a human body.” Perhaps most disturbingly, in May 2022, Al-Ghoul openly posed the question, “Are the Jews human like us?”

Al-Ghoul’s posts also reveal a concerning worldview that extends beyond the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In 2018, he wrote, “There is no doubt that the United States of America is the greatest empire in the world and because Israel is its offspring and industry, it will not be able to breathe even one day if the American empire is gone. And because it is the year of God in his creation, America and Israel are about to go down, but when?”

During the 2017 Hamas rocket attacks on Israel, launched in response to the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, Al-Ghoul encouraged Gaza civilians to join the “permanent resistance” against the Jewish state.

The controversy surrounding CBS adds to growing concerns about the objectivity of journalists covering Israel’s defensive war against Hamas. A recent report by Jewish Insider found that one-third of Palestinian journalists listed as killed in Gaza had connections to terrorist groups. While there is no evidence yet linking Al-Ghoul to any such organizations, his antisemitic social media history certainly calls into question CBS’s ability to cover the war fairly.”

For its part, CBS News is still reeling after facing criticism for its handling of Jewish anchor Tony Dokoupil. In an interview last week with author Ta-Nehisi Coates about his new book, “The Message,” Dokoupil challenged his guest’s assertions that Israel was practicing “apartheid” against Arabs. Drawing outrage from senior staffers, Dokoupil was summoned to a meeting with the network’s “Race and Culture Unit,” where he was criticized for his tone, phrasing, and even body language during the Coates interview.

    Al-Ghoul is exactly that – a ghoul!
CBS is another useful idiot, albeit a dangerous one – for the Arabs and other enemies of Israel.
