A coalition of renowned authors, including George R.R. Martin and Roxane Gay, has sparked outrage by celebrating Hezbollah’s rocket attacks against Israel.

In a post on X, the Writers Against the War on Gaza (WAWOG) shared an Al-Jazeera news article reporting on the 200 missiles and suicide drones Hezbollah fired into Israeli airspace on Friday. Alongside the article, WAWOG posted a photo of Hezbollah’s missiles being intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome defense system, along with the caption “Happy 4th of July.”

WAWOG has long been vocal in its condemnation of Israel, accusing the Jewish state of attempting to commit “genocide” in Gaza and erecting an “apartheid state” in Judea and Samaria.

On its official website, WAWOG claims to draw inspiration from so-called “heroes of the resistance” such as Souha Bechara, Basil al-Araj, and Georges Abdallah, all of whom are widely recognized as terrorists with records of violent acts against Israeli civilians.

The antisemitic organization has rejected the notion that Hamas’ indiscriminate massacre of over 1,200 Israelis on October 7 was unprovoked, instead arguing that it was a necessary act of Arab self-defense. WAWOG has also dismissed suggestions that Israel’s critics are motivated by antisemitism and asserts that justice for Arabs can only be achieved through the “complete dismantling of Israel.”

Since Oct. 7, WAWOG has attempted to rally the literary community against Israel, demanding writers declare allegiance to “Palestine” and vilifying authors who support Zionism. In April, WAWOG spearheaded protests against the PEN America World Voices Festival, condemning its organizers’ refusal to denounce Israel’s defensive actions in Gaza. After successfully pressuring many high-profile writers to drop out of the conference, PEN America canceled its prestigious annual event.

On Sunday, Hezbollah launched dozens of missiles at northern Israel, leaving an Israeli man injured in Moshav Kfar Zeitim.

WAWOG are simply displaying their true racist imperialist agenda. According to them it’s one rule for islamofascists such as hamas and hizbollah (they are free to massacre, rape and plunder at will), while Israel is supposed to treat these bloodthirsty organisations with kids gloves.

The world will no longer stand for these fascist organisations, striving to impose their will and sharia on the world.
