Khymani James gained national attention after a video surfaced of him telling Columbia University officials that “Zionists don’t deserve to live,” making him one of the most notorious anti-Semitic student protesters in the country.
In April, Columbia University announced an “interim suspension” of James and initiated disciplinary proceedings after he told his social media followers to be “grateful” he wasn’t “murdering Zionists.” As the fall semester approaches, the university has not clarified James’s status, despite previously commenting on his case. James is still listed as a Columbia College student in the Columbia directory with an active university email, suggesting he may return to campus. Three deans who recently resigned are no longer listed in the directory.
Meanwhile, Columbia is preparing for renewed and ramped up anti-Israel protests this fall in anticipation of students’ return.
