Rock musician David Draiman has extended an olive branch to Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong after he hijacked Coachella to denounce Israel’s defensive operations on Gaza.

During Saturday’s performance, Armstrong modified the lyrics of “Jesus of Suburbia,” changing them to reference “the kids from Palestine,” a move that quickly went viral across social media platforms and music news outlets.

“Open offer to Billie Joe Armstrong. You know I respect you brother,” Draiman wrote on X. “I’d love to have the opportunity for you to hear the Israeli/Jewish side of this horrific war. I’m available to discuss whenever you are. No judgement, nothing preconceived. Let me know.”

Unlike many celebrities commenting from a distance, Draiman’s support for Israel stems from devastating personal loss. When Hamas attacked the Tribe of Nova festival on October 7, 2023, they killed over 400 people, including several friends of the Disturbed vocalist and fellow musician Jake Marlowe of Desolated.

This isn’t the first time Draiman has used his platform to confront antisemitism in the music industry either. Last month, the “Sound of Silence” singer took aim at Kanye West after the rapper’s continued antisemitic provocations reached new lows.

“Hey @kanyewest, Here’s a design for you,” the “Sound of Silence” singer fired back on X with a middle finger emoji after West proudly declared: “It was always a dream of mine to walk around with a Swastika T on.”

“You’re nothing but a Jew hating, misogynistic, pathetic, attention starved A–HOLE,” Draiman wrote. “You’ve destroyed any legacy you once had. You will be remembered as a sad, angry excuse of a man, without honor, without decency, and without a soul.”
