Vice President Kamala Harris secured a commanding 79% of the Jewish vote nationwide in Tuesday’s presidential election, according to NBC News exit polls.

President-Elect Donald Trump received 21% of the Jewish vote, falling well short of his 30% showing in 2020. The results came despite a record-breaking $15 million investment by the Republican Jewish Coalition, which had anticipated that Democratic handling of Israel policy and antisemitism concerns would drive Jewish voters toward Trump.

Regional polling showed some variation, with a Fox News poll indicating a closer margin in New York state, where Harris led 56% to Trump’s 43%.

“I’m so proud of Jewish turnout across the country. We are getting early reports in and seeing huge, groundbreaking numbers,” Maury Litwack from the Teach Coalition, who was polling Jewish voters in New York House races and in battleground states, said on X. “I can point to numerous examples of candidates taking terrible positions on antisemitism or staying silent on antisemitism that have cost them their races this cycle.”

During a September campaign event, Trump had dismissed polls showing Democrats winning the Jewish vote by 60%, attributing such numbers to what he called a Democratic “curse on Jews.”

“Forty percent is not acceptable because we have an election to win,” Trump had stated at the event. He went on to claim that Jewish voters who supported Democrats “should have their heads examined,” while expressing frustration about not being “treated properly by voters who happen to be Jewish” despite his pro-Israel policies.

RJC Board Member Ari Fleischer had predicted Trump would capture close to 50% of Jewish votes in battleground states, a forecast that appears to have significantly overestimated Republican support among Jewish voters.

During the primaries, mobilized Jewish voters dealt a decisive blow to the anti-Israel “Squad,” ousting both Rep. Jamaal Bowman in New York and Rep. Cori Bush in Missouri.
