Three Israelis were killed yesterday after an Arab truck driver opened fire at the Allenby Crossing, between Israel and Jordan. Security personnel at the crossing quickly responded and eliminated the terrorist, later identified as Maher Dhiab Hussein al-Jazi from the Jordanian city of Udhruh.

The victims of this tragic attack have been identified.

Adrian Marcelo Podsmesser (left), was a resident of Ariel whose son Sebastian survived the Nova Festival massacre on October 7.

“My Dad supported and encouraged me throughout all the months after the October 7th attack. He was always there for me and helped me. He is truly an amazing man. The pain is unbearable. I still can’t believe what happened,” Sebastian tells Ynet.

“Dad, Papito, was a guy with a huge heart. He taught me how to be a person with good intentions. He taught me how to live life without calculating each step. My father loved his children very much and took care of them. He would make us laugh and raise all our spirits.”

Yochanan Shchori, 61, was a long-time resident of Ma’ale Efraim and father of six. Yochanan had been an active member of his community, serving on the city council since 2013 and working as a cargo foreman at the Allenby terminal. Known for his dedication to public service, he had volunteered with the Civil Guard for many years and immediately joined the local first response team when war broke out on Oct. 7.

Yuri Birnbaum, 65, was a resident of Kibbutz Na’ama who had immigrated to Israel from Russia in the 1990s. A father of three, Yuri had lost his wife to cancer about a decade ago.
