Almog Meir Jan’s father, Yosef, passed away only a few hours before his son was rescued from Hamas captivity on Saturday.

Yosef’s friend, Lior Engelman, posted the death announcement and said that he believes that Yosef was so saddened by his son’s kidnapping that he believes he died of heartbreak. In the above picture, we see Meir hugging his grandfather instead.
