The devastating fires ripping through Los Angeles are divine revenge for American backing of Israel in Gaza. At least that’s what’s been dominating Iranian airwaves this past week, according to an exclusive report by Iran International.

“The cries of the oppressed children of Gaza and the Palestinian mothers have caught up with America, imposing a similar situation on the state of California and the city of Los Angeles,” the Kayhan newspaper reported on Saturday.

Jam-e Jam newspaper dubbed the crisis “Fire-Angeles,” in a self-professed mock of President-Elect Donald Trump’s recent warning that “all hell will break loose” in the Middle East if Hamas doesn’t release Israeli hostages before his inauguration.

Iran’s state-owned Al-Alam Network flooded screens with split-screen imagery, juxtaposing Los Angeles’s burning neighborhoods against Gaza’s war-torn landscape. Fars News Agency piled on, branding Los Angeles the “infernal city” while mocking what it called America’s “very weak” crisis response.

Regime spokesperson Rasoul Falahati called the LA fires “God’s revenge against the leaders of America.”

“A city the size of Gaza has burned, while all its inhabitants were American capitalists. This fire was God’s revenge against the American leaders,” Falahati said, as quoted by the London-based news network.

Even Iran’s typically more diplomatic voices couldn’t resist joining the propaganda parade. Former Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif took to X, drawing direct parallels between “ravaged homes, schools, and hospitals in Gaza” and California’s destruction.

“It’s only human to sympathize with Californians who’ve lost everything to the wrath of nature—particularly as many there have stood with Gazans who lost everything to the savagery of Israel,” he wrote.

Iran’s propaganda blitz comes as infernos continue to ravage Los Angeles County. At least 11 residents have died, while 10,000 structures lie damaged or destroyed. As firefighters battle exhaustion conducting house-to-house searches, officials warn the death toll will likely rise.

Ironically, while Tehran’s media celebrates California’s misfortune, their own country is grappling with a crippling energy crisis. Despite sitting on some of the world’s largest natural gas reserves, the government has refused to modernize its infrastructure or embrace efficient technologies. The regime’s aging power grid wheezes along at maximum capacity, while outdated gas pipelines and power plants struggle to meet basic demands.

As Iranian leaders funneled billions to global terror networks, their own citizens shivered through yet another weekend of blackouts and closures. On Saturday, critical gas shortages forced schools and government offices to shut down across Tehran and multiple provinces—just the latest failure of a regime that prioritizes funding global jihad over keeping its citizens’ lights on.”
