A Georgia resident lost her life this week in a tragic collision with a police officer who was responding to a bomb threat “For Palestine” targeting Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s home in the American city of Rome.

Tammie Pickelsimer, 66, died when her vehicle collided with a truck driven by a Rome police officer who was en route to join the Floyd County Bomb Squad. Bearing the subject line “For Palestine” and “Viva Viva Palestina,” an email had been sent to Rome’s assistant police chief on Friday evening but went unnoticed in a junk mail folder until Monday. The message included Greene’s home address and warned of an explosive device set to detonate over the weekend or upon opening the mailbox.

Following the investigation, authorities determined there was no actual explosive device at Greene’s residence. Federal investigators have since traced the threat’s origin to a Russian IP address, while Rome Police Department officials implementing new protocols to ensure proper handling of such threatening communications.

“My prayers are with Tammie Pickelsimer, her family, the officer who was injured and the entire Rome Police Department,” Greene expressed on X.

“Due to the international nature and severity of this threat, my office is collaborating closely with local and federal law enforcement, including the FBI, to ensure the perpetrator is brought to justice.”

Such pro-Hamas threats have become increasingly common against members of Congress, with Greene reporting at least nine “swatting” incidents since taking office. Recent weeks have seen multiple Democratic representatives targeted with bomb threats during the Thanksgiving holiday.
