A former hostage has bravely come forward to expose the cruelty she suffered at the hands of Hamas during her days in captivity.
Maya Regev was attending the Nova Music Festival on October 7 when she was shot in the leg and kidnapped by Hamas operatives. Despite being seriously wounded, Regev endured over seven weeks of physical and psychological torture.
Join the JBN+ WhatsApp GroupIn an interview with Channel 12 News, Regev described the excruciating pain inflicted by her captors, who poured acidic substances like chlorine and vinegar directly into her bullet wounds. To stifle her screams, they heavily drugged her with ketamine and opioids.
“I did feel,” Regev recounted, even though the drugs left her unable to react to Hamas’ sadistic abuse.
To further torment their victim, Hamas surgeons deliberately botched an operation to reattach Regev’s wounded foot, leaving it at an unnatural angle. This necessitated months of grueling correctional surgeries and rehabilitation upon her return to Israel after a brief ceasefire agreement in November.
Regev credits her survival to an indomitable fighting spirit in the face of unimaginable evil.
“I had two choices: to lie on the mattress and cry that I miss my parents, to cry that I was shot, to cry that I was in captivity and just get closer, or pick myself up and fight. I think that’s in the end what really saved me.”
Amazingly, Regev’s torturous experience has inspired her to pursue a career in medicine.
“When I was there, I told myself that if I get out of this and get home, I want to take care of people properly.”
Thanks to Regev’s harrowing testimony, Hamas has once again reminded the world that it cloaks its barbarity in a flimsy veil of “resistance.” The Iranian-backed terrorist group will continue to ignore basic precepts of human rights until Israel completes its mission to finish off Hamas for good.
Get the rest of the hostages then wipe that strip of land off the map. They are all monsters and I feel nothing for them.
Agreed 110%
this is mengele. “never again” just happened again and the world is silent. just like 2nd world war. so broken hearted.
Karol, I completely agree. This is exactly how I feel.
Thank you for your bravery. You have endured too much. I am thankful you are home. I am praying for you & all of the hostages and their families. Me at you sharing help to be a voice of reason in the midst of insanity. God Bless Israel
