Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has survived a carefully orchestrated assassination attempt.
According to Mehr-e-Farda NEws Agency, Ahmadinejad was traveling to Zanjan for a religious ceremony last Monday. While driving along the country’s Karaj-Qazvin highway, Ahmadinejad was forced to switch vehicles when his driver noticed a malfunction with the car’s air conditioner.

Investigations have revealed that the vehicle’s steering and brakes had been compromised, suggesting a deliberate act of sabotage rather than a mere mechanical failure. Sources close to the investigation have disclosed that the sabotaged car had been in the custody of the Presidential Office for repairs.
However, instead of being sent to an authorized repair shop, it was allegedly taken by “special security agents” to an unknown location. Insiders believe these unidentified agents come from the upper echelons of Iran’s most sensitive military branches, such as its Intelligence and Counterintelligence Unit or the clandestine Vali-e-Amr branch.
During his presidency from 2005 to 2013, Ahmadinejad gained notoriety for his inflammatory antisemitic rhetoric and despotic actions. He openly denied the Holocaust, called for Israel to be wiped off the map, and accused the United States of orchestrating the 9/11 attacks to justify invading the Middle East.
His tenure was also marked by a brutal crackdown on dissent and the suppression of civil liberties. The 2009 Green Movement, which emerged in response to his disputed re-election, was met with violence and mass arrests. Activists, journalists, and political opponents were routinely imprisoned, tortured, and executed, as the tyrant sought to maintain his grip on power.
