Martin Indyk, who served as the U.S. ambassador to Israel and was a key figure in Middle East diplomacy, has passed away at the age of 72. Indyk held the ambassadorship twice, in the mid-1990s and early 2000s, and played a significant role in peace negotiations under Presidents Clinton and Obama.

He was also a prominent scholar and author, known for his work on U.S. foreign policy and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
