American-Israeli Judith Raanan, the first hostage freed after October 7th, met with former President Donald Trump in Florida this morning to personally thank him for his support during her captivity. Raanan, along with her 17-year-old daughter Natalie, was released on October 20, 2023, after enduring weeks of captivity.

During the meeting, Raanan presented Trump with a gift as a token of appreciation, expressing her gratitude for his backing throughout the negotiation process that led to her release. She also recounted a memorable moment from her ordeal, sharing how her captors mockingly referred to her as “Fatma,” a derogatory term in Arab culture. Demonstrating resilience and humor, she responded in Arabic, “What are you talking about? I’m not Fatma in royalty.” Her boldness reportedly led to a change in how she was treated by her captors.
