A customized pickup truck adorned with provocative Hamas imagery has raised tensions for Jewish residents in Williamsburg.

The black Ford F-150, dubbed the “Hamas truck” by terrified locals, reportedly first appeared on Williamsburg’s streets in recent weeks. It’s adorned with Palestinian flags, faux bullet holes, a portrait of former Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, and red paint resembling bloody handprints.

As if the truck’s antisemitic visuals weren’t enough, it constantly blares Arabic music and has often been seen parked near local Jewish religious centers.

“Never in my life did I think I would feel scared to be Jewish in Brooklyn,” a Jewish resident told the New York Post. 

“While I recognize that the person who owns that truck must be in a lot of pain to decorate it that way, I can’t help but feel targeted by it being parked at the epicenter of our neighborhood. It feels very intentional.”

Authorities have identified 21-year-old Jose Littef as the truck’s owner. The vehicle is said to be unregistered and carries an improper license plate displaying “oh Gaza.” Its window tinting also appears to violate regulations. Although local police have inspected the truck, no charges have been filed against Littef at this time.

Home to roughly 1.6 million Jews, NYC has seen an unprecedented wave of antisemitism wash over its five boroughs since October 7. According to the Anti-Defamation League, a shocking 110% surge in incidents has been reported, accounting for nearly 14% of all cases nationwide.
