The head of Hamas’ Internal Security Operations, Faiq Mabhouh, has been confirmed killed by IDF troops following a recent skirmish at Gaza’s Shifa Hospital.

The IDF engaged a nest of Hamas terrorists early Monday morning at Shifa Hospital after intelligence reports suggested the terror group was attempting to reestablish operations within the facility. During the ensuing confrontation, one IDF soldier was killed, and eighty terrorists were arrested.

“Mabhouh was eliminated in an encounter while armed and hiding in a compound at the Shifa hospital, from which he operated and advanced terrorist activity,” a statement by the IDF read.

Numerous weapons were seized from the room adjacent to where Mabhouh was eliminated.

Shifa Hospital came into the spotlight in late November when IDF footage revealed a network of terror tunnels beneath the Gaza Strip’s largest medical facility. The IDF also reported that at least three of the 253 individuals abducted on Oct. 7 were held there.
