A professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has resigned following an uproar caused by her comments denying atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7.

“Now is the time to abolish Zionism, that is the direction I’m going in today. It can’t go on anymore, it can’t, it’s criminal,”Professor Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian wrote in her petition accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.

She also expressed doubt about the factual evidence of abuse on Oct. 7, saying, “They will use any lie. They started with babies, they continued with rape, and they will continue with a million other lies. We stopped believing them, I hope the world stops believing them.”

Hebrew University initially suspended Shalhoub-Kevorkian for spreading misinformation but allowed her to return after she expressed regret. This angered advocacy group Btsalmo, who filed a complaint with the university, arguing that her disgraceful comments personally affected students with ties to the brutal massacre.

In response, the Hebrew University’s disciplinary committee rejected Btsalmo’s complaint on Tuesday but acknowledged that the professor’s words were “harsh and repulsive” and that they “reject them entirely.” It also noted that Shalhoub-Kevorkian has retired and will no longer teach at the university from the next academic year.

Local reports indicate that Hebrew University had been privately pressuring Shalhoub-Kevorkian to resign over the past year.

“Retired”, my %*$&. She should have been fired immedialtely. The problem is these universities are flooded with these leftarded Jew bashing “academician” drek.

She is a Professor of Drek! How can Hebrew U allow such an individual to strain the reputation of such an esteemed establishment! Hallas!

Send her to Gaza to live. This should never be tolerated and she should have been fired without retirement benefits. There must be a consequence for this type of hate speech.

There’s freedom of speech and then there’s dissemination of lies and hate !!! This antisemitic woke bs has no place anywhere, least of all at an Israeli University

Horrid that the students had to bide this. I pray they were given councilors to mediate their emotional fallout.

These so called professors in education are no more than anti semites with a degree period

The last name says it all. No, not the one you might be thinking, but the one after the hypen. Though most likely not related, the sound is eerily familiar. Remember the ‘mercy killing’ doctor Jack Kevorkian? At least he, purportedly, was motivated by mercy. One who denies the savage murder and satanic atrocities perpetrated against our people is complicit in their murder.

I would like to know what would happen to this professor if she was teaching in Syria or Irak . And this whole massacre of octobre 7 happened there

Cherish the democracy that is Israel and pay respect to your hosting country mskevorkian . And acknowledge your mistakes and go talk to the families of those victims and enough with your lies . Israel supported the Armenian people when turkey denied the Armenian genocide .
