The top UN court, ICJ (The International Court of Justice) declared Israel’s “occupation” of Judea & Samaria and East Jerusalem, illegal and called for its end as soon as possible. In its first-ever advisory opinion on the matter, the ICJ stated by an 11-4 vote that Israel’s presence and settlements in these areas are unlawful.
The court emphasized Israel’s obligation to end this occupation swiftly. While the opinion is non-binding, it could influence actions by the International Criminal Court, the United Nations, or Israel’s allies.

“The Jewish people are not occupiers in their own land, including in our eternal capital Jerusalem nor in Judea and Samaria, our historical homeland. No absurd opinion in the Hague can deny this historical truth or the legal right of Israelis to live in their own communities in our ancestoral home.”
