Israel is investigating whether Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader in Gaza and mastermind of the October 7th attacks, was killed in an IDF airstrike, according to Kan News. Despite these claims, there is no solid intelligence confirming Sinwar’s death, and defense officials remain divided on whether he was eliminated or simply cut off from communications.

In recent weeks, Sinwar has been linked to several communications with regional allies. Al Jazeera reported that he sent a letter to Yemen’s Houthi rebel leader, congratulating him on missile strikes targeting Israel. A separate report suggests that in July, Sinwar also corresponded with Hezbollah’s Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, reaffirming Hamas’ commitment to the Axis of Resistance following the death of Ismail Haniyeh.
