The commander of Hamas’ Shejaiya Battalion was eliminated on Friday in a airstrike in Gaza City, according to the IDF.

The IDF reported that Ayman Shweidah and his battalion were heavily involved in the October 7 attacks and had carried out numerous assaults against Israeli troops in Gaza during the war.

In the same strike, Ubadah Abu Hain, one of the Shejaiya Battalion’s company commanders, was also killed, according to the IDF.

The IDF described Abu Hain as a veteran and prominent commander within the Shejaiya Battalion, playing a significant role in the fighting.
