Tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border reached new heights Monday as the Israeli Defense Forces and Hezbollah exchanged heavy fire.

Throughout the day, the IDF has been conducting targeting of Hezbollah’s extensive missile capabilities nestled inside Lebanon. By early afternoon, more than 300 terror targets have been reported to be hit. According to Ynet, citing a security source, the IDF is poised to launch a “large-scale attack” on Lebanon “within hours” and expects Hezbollah to retaliate in kind.

“Hezbollah will surely respond by firing in large quantities on northern Israel and perhaps also on selected targets in Tel Aviv,” the source warned, adding, “I don’t think it’s too early to now call these events the ‘Third Lebanon War.'”

Unlike their enemies, prior to the strikes, Israel issued evacuation notices to Lebanese civilians near Hezbollah targets before attacking. The IDF sent text messages, made phone calls, and even reportedly hijacked Lebanese radio stations to broadcast warnings in Arabic.

Hezbollah has since retaliated with multiple rocket barrages at northern Israel. At least 25 rockets were fired at the Safed area, with another 10 targeting the Lower Galilee. One Israeli was lightly injured by shrapnel, while others were treated for shock. In Givat Avni, a rocket scored a direct hit on a house causing significant damage. Miraculously, the home’s residents narrowly escaped harm by reaching a safe room moments before impact.
