Bill Maher has fired back at Larry David after the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator satirized his White House meeting with President Trump in a New York Times op-ed that drew parallels between the comedian’s visit and a fictional dinner with Adolf Hitler.

“First of all, it’s kind of insulting to six million dead Jews,” Maher told Piers Morgan during a Thursday interview on the set of his podcast. “It’s an argument you kind of lost just to start it.”

David’s satirical piece, “My Dinner With Adolf,” appeared Monday in the Times and took aim at Maher’s March dinner with Trump, after which the HBO host described the president as “gracious” and “not fake” in private. The essay mimics Maher’s comments about discovering a different Trump behind closed doors, with David writing that Hitler “seemed so human” at his fictional dinner. “The private Hitler was a completely different animal. And oddly enough, this one seemed more authentic, like this was the real Hitler.”

Maher rejected the comparison, telling Morgan: “Look, maybe it’s not completely logically fair, but Hitler has really kind of got to stay in his own place. He is the GOAT of evil. We’re just going to have to leave it like that.”

Addressing David’s critique directly, Maher said, “This wasn’t my favorite moment of our friendship. I think the minute you play the ‘Hitler’ card, you’ve lost the argument. Come on, man. Hitler, Nazis – nobody has been harder, and more prescient I must say, about Donald Trump than me.”

The “Real Time” host also defended his decision to report honestly about his White House experience.

“I don’t need to be lectured on who Donald Trump is. Just the fact that I met him in person didn’t change that. The fact that I reported honestly is not a sin either,” he argued.

Maher also shared he hasn’t spoken with David since the publication of his spoof essay, but left the door open for reconciliation.

“I don’t want to make this constantly personal with me and Larry. We might be friends again. I can take a shot and I can also take it when people disagree with me,” he said. “Let’s go back to what my original thing was. There’s got to be a better way than hurling insults and not talking to people. If I can talk to Trump, I can talk to Larry David too.”

Larry David has finally decided to say something after his shocking silence since 10/7.
And he has broken his shameful silence with a preposterous comparison between Hitler ( an evil dictator guilty of genocide against Jews ) and Trump ( an American president who has only been a friend to the Jewish people ).
This is insulting to all of our people who were victims of Hitler . It is insulting to the majority of Americans who voted for President Trump. And it is insulting to the intelligence of anyone who read his moronic essay.
Larry David is a fool ; I will not be watching any more of his shows.
