0 commentsA new bus route designed to make Jews feel safe began operations today in northern London.
Operating daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM at 20-minute intervals, the 310 route provides a direct connection between the two predominantly Jewish neighborhoods of Stamford Hill and Golders Green. The service, costing Transport for London (TfL) over £3,160,000, includes stops at Highgate Village, Whittington Hospital, and Finsbury Park.
“For 16 years now, the Jewish communities in Stamford Hill and Golders Green have been lobbying for a direct link between those two communities,” said Mayor Sadiq Khan. “I was struck by the conversations I’ve had in recent months with the Jewish community. They were frightened because of a massive increase in antisemitism since October 7 last year.”
TfL is running a public consultation on the route over the next 12 months, encouraging Jewish passengers to provide feedback to assess the service’s effectiveness. It comes in response to a sharp rise in antisemitic incidents, with Met Police data showing a 278.9% increase in Jewish hate crimes since October 7.
“We have heard stories of Jewish Londoners receiving verbal abuse,” Mayor Khan added. “We’ve also heard stories about Jewish Londoners not leaving their homes because they’re worried about their safety.”
“I don’t want any Londoner to be scared to leave their home because they’re worried about public transport,” he said. “I think we’ve got to recognize the fear that Londoners feel who are Jewish, and we’ve got to be good allies to our Jewish friends and neighbors.”
Maybe Met Police together with Transport for London should try and solve the problem instead of putting on a new bus route?????

Wouldn’t it be better to say a new bus route has been added due to years of requests…. What’s the bus going to say on it? Jews only?

Speaking about special treatment.by that logic we saw nationwide riots around the country targetting muslims . not some fake, organised, spamming, backed by well funded lobbying groupsblike we are eeing in those two areas as you said it’s been lobbied for over 10 years .stop the damn genocide and it’s supporters and sympathisers that are found in those very areas
I have nothing against this bus route, but I object to my taxes paying for this . It is decisive, as the Jewish community are being singled out for preferential treatment, because they shout the loudest . Muslims are being terrorised by far right groups and this is unrecognized, as they have learnt to accept this treatment. I am anti racist and anti sexist, but I detest the bias on the media and in the Western world.
Islamaphobes is allowed to be racist and nothing is done to protect the innocent Muslim community . I lived through the witch hunt against communism, particularly in the USA where innocent, peaceful citizens were hounded for their liberal and socialist views.
Since the break up of Russia, Islam has become the bogy man of the west for lynching.
More white American have committed mass murders in cult movements and shootings in schools, than any other groups. Yet we are brainwashed to believe blacks and Muslims are the terrorist and to be feared in or communities.
I have no objections to a special bus for Jews , but they must pay for this service; otherwise Muslims should be entitled to the same given both religious groups face prejudices in London. I would argue that Muslims are more easily targeted as their clothing and skin Colour makes them a target. That is what Diane Abbot meant and got suspended from the Labour party for. Shame on Kier Starmer and the Labour Party
