In the wake of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar’s death, Iran’s supreme leader is vowing to continue its war of annihilation against Israel.

“The Resistance Front, just as it did not halt its advance with the martyrdom of its prominent leaders in the past, will not experience the slightest pause with the martyrdom of Sinwar either,” Khamenei said during a televised address on Saturday.

“This front did not halt its progress with the martyrdom of prominent figures like Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Fathi Shaqaqi, Rantisi, and Ismail Haniyeh, and it will not experience the slightest pause with the martyrdom of Sinwar either, by God’s will. Hamas is alive and will remain so.”

On Friday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued its first response to the assassination of Sinwar, claiming that others will rise to take the place of the October 7 mastermind.

“Undoubtedly, the physical elimination of fighters on the path of dignity and human honor will not undermine the school and path of resistance,” the Foreign Ministry’s statement reads.

However, beneath the surface of Iran’s bravado, there are signs that Tehran may be feeling the pressure. Iran’s proxy terror network has taken heavy hits since Hamas’s brutal Oct. 7 massacre. The deaths of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in a Tehran strike last July and Hezbollah’s Hassan Nasrallah in a Beirut bombing in September dealt major blows. Now, with Sinwar gone, Hamas faces a potential leadership crisis that could further weaken Iran’s regional influence.

Meanwhile, the threat of an Israeli attack on Iranian soil looms large, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu having vowed retaliation for Iran’s 2nd direct missile strike against the Jewish State earlier this month.
