In 2023, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Iran had restricted access and monitoring, limiting the agency’s ability to verify its nuclear activities. Alarmingly, in September, assessments indicated that Iran had acquired enough highly enriched uranium that, if further enriched to 90%, could theoretically yield materials for four nuclear weapons.
