The bloodlust of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was on full display last night as he shamelessly celebrated the October 7 massacres executed by its terror proxy Hamas.

Speaking at an event venerating the founder of Iran’s Islamist regime on Sunday, Khamenei hailed the attacks by Hamas that left over 1,200 Israeli civilians dead and hundreds taken captive as a “huge blow” that was “very much needed” against the Jewish state.

Hamas is widely recognized as a proxy terror force armed, funded and trained by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to further Tehran’s extremist agenda. Yet Khamenei unrepentantly celebrated their heinous acts of violence.

“The Zionist regime has completely misjudged the capabilities of the resistance front. The Zionist regime is melting before the eyes of the world,” Khamenei said. “They have, by their own actions, entered a dead-end corridor from which failures continue to follow one after the other, and from which they will not be able to escape.”

Khamenei’s vile remarks endorsing Hamas’ butchery lay bare just how fundamentally repulsive the values are of the extremist Islamic clergy who hold power in the regime. For Tehran’s theocratic leadership, that clearly means massacring Israeli civilians with Gaza’s Iranian-supplied weapons.

The fact that Hamas, who deliberately targeted children and families on October 7, are hailed as heroes by Iran should erase any remaining doubts about its fundamentally genocidal character. Appeasing such a malign force through ineffective sanctions and toothless nuclear negotiations is to accept its industrial-scale global terror war as legitimate.
