Palestinian Islamic Jihad has shared a new proof-of-life video featuring Russian-Israeli captive Alexander “Sasha” Troufanov, who was taken from his home during the October 7, 2023 attacks and has spent 404 days in captivity in Gaza.
In the undated footage, Troufanov identifies himself as 28 years old, though he recently turned 29. He describes deteriorating conditions for himself and fellow hostages, citing dwindling supplies of food and hygiene items.

Of the 251 people kidnapped during Hamas’s brutal October 7 assault, 97 are still trapped in Gaza, with the IDF confirming 34 deaths. The crisis has sparked near-daily protests across Israel, with families demanding more aggressive action to secure their loved ones’ freedom.
