Jerusalem Day, known in Hebrew as Yom Yerushalayim, is an Israeli national holiday commemorating the reunification of Jerusalem following the Six-Day War.

On Wednesday, thousands of Jerusalemites marked the special day by attending official ceremonies, memorial services for soldiers who died in the battle, and parading joyfully through Jerusalem’s Old City.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich danced with the participants of the Jerusalem Day parade, holding Israeli flags and singing a song from the Torah with them.

Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, made the following statement after visiting Damascus Gate on Jerusalem Day:

“Every house in Gaza and in the north has a picture of our Temple Mount. I am here to say, Jerusalem is ours. Damascus Gate is ours. The Temple Mount is ours. Today, Jews prayed freely on the Temple Mount. We say in the simplest way: it’s ours! We want all the hostages back, and we need to continue to destroy Hamas and PIJ, and we will only accomplish that in one way… war!”
