The IDF has released footage of an early morning airstrike targeting a Hamas cell attempting to infiltrate Israel from the southern Gaza Strip.
Around dawn, two terrorists were killed by a drone strike, and a third was killed by tank shelling, while a fourth operative fled back towards the Rafah area. The incident occurred near Rafah when IDF troops encountered the terrorists attempting to cross into Israel. The terrorists opened fire on the Israeli soldiers, who returned fire.The IDF then called in an aircraft strike, which killed two of the terrorists.
Shortly afterward, a third terrorist was killed by tank shelling. The army is investigating reports that a fourth terrorist may have fled the scene but remained in Gaza.
No suspects crossed the barrier into Israel during the incident, and there were no immediate reports of Israeli casualties.
