Israeli-American Amit Elor, the daughter of two Israelis who moved to the USA, has won the gold medal in wrestling for the USA.

With a 3-0 victory in the Finals, 20-year-old Amit Elor becomes the youngest American Olympic gold medalist in the history of wrestling!

Amit has an older sister, Ronny, and an older brother, Orry, both of whom won USA Wrestling Junior National titles.

Amit has faced adversity recently. Her older brother, Oshry, was murdered at age 23 in his home during an attempted robbery in 2018, and her father, Yair, died suddenly in 2022 during COVID. Both of her grandfathers and her great-grandmother were Holocaust survivors. The rest of her extended family lives in Israel.

Amit grew up in Walnut Creek, California, and only spoke Hebrew until she attended the local JCC preschool.
