High hopes for a breakthrough in fighting against Hamas fell short on Sunday after the Iranian-backed terror group once again issued unreasonable demands to Israel.
It all began on Saturday in Cairo when US, Egyptian, and Qatari mediators worked tirelessly to pressure Israel to give in to some of Hamas’ outrageous demands. Israel reportedly has agreed to returning a large number of dangerous Arab prisoners with the exception of a few who would be exiled from Gaza. Also, displaced Gazans would be allowed to return to Northern Gaza as long as they are screened beforehand.
As talks progressed into Sunday, it became clear that Hamas was still unwilling to yield. The terror group demanded a full Israeli withdrawal from the strategically crucial Philadelphi Corridor, a narrow strip of land along Gaza’s southern border with Egypt. Of course, Israel rejected this demand as intelligence has shown how Hamas smuggles weapons through Egypt.
Although the Hamas delegation departed, a senior US official attempted to put a positive spin on the negotiations.
“The process will continue over the coming days through working groups to further address remaining issues and details,” the official told Reuters.
Once again, Hamas is fooling no one with its “resistance” narrative. After all of Israel’s concessions for a war started by savages on October 7, Hamas still demands more. At what point does the rational world realize how insane it is that Israel stands as the victim? Do the voices of the 1,200 innocents murdered without provocation and the remaining 110 abused hostages in Gaza not deserve justice?
Talks will reportedly continue at lower levels in the coming days.
Israel stay strong. Increase your observants of Torah and Mitzvahs. Destroy Amulek. Am Yisroel chai.
Appeasement never works. It always emboldens the bad guy. Give the bad guy a bloody nose. That’s the only language he knows.
Appeasement in the 1930s brought the world Hitler and WWII. Learn from history. Terrorists, tyrants and fanatics must be exterminated, not coddled.
