Both parents wore a piece of tape with 320 on it to signify the 320th day of captivity of their son.

Jon and Rachel: “This is a political convention. But needing our only son and all of the cherished hostages home is not a political issue. It is a humanitarian issue. The families of the eight American hostages meet every few weeks in Washington. We’re heartened that both Democratic and Republican leaders demonstrate bipartisan support for our hostages being released.”

The parents also thanked concerned people worldwide: “You’ve kept us breathing without air.”
