0 commentsPope Francis renewed his call for an “end to the conflict in Israel and Palestine” saying, “Let the conflict cease! End the violence! End the hatred!” He urged for hostages to be freed, for continued negotiations, and for peaceful solutions.
The Pope also recalled meeting Rachel Goldberg , whose son, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, was taken hostage by Hamas in October 2023 and later found dead with five other hostages in August 2024. “I accompany her at this moment,” he said, expressing solidarity with families of those still held captive.
In this video from November, 2023, Rachel Goldberg, mother of hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin, met with Pope Francis in the Vatican and showed him the video of her son saying:
“This is my son, he has no arm. His arm was cut off. That’s him. That was 47 days ago. So my heart has been in Gaza for 47 days”
Hersh Goldberg-Polin and five other hostages were later found MURDERED, not simply dead. This reporting is no better than other antisemitic media.
Thank you, Helene. “…found dead” is such a lie! Trying to spare the feelings of the Pope? What about the feelings of Hersh Goldberg-Polin’s family?
The hostages were MURDERED in cold blood. They were not found dead. As least report it correctly
