New reports allege that Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in Tehran, died from an explosive device that was secretly smuggled in and planted weeks in advance in the guest complex where he was staying, not from a missile.

According to The New York Times, based on eight Iranian, American, and Middle Eastern intelligence sources. The NYT described how the device was detonated remotely the moment it was known that Haniyeh was in the room.
